SWC Technology Partners Delivers Managed Services Solution to Support Fast-Growing MVTRAC

Oak Brook, Ill., May 3 — SWC Technology Partners has deployed a virtualized technology environment for MVTRAC that will keep its IT infrastructure growing as fast as its business.

MVTRAC provides motor vehicle intelligence networks for public safety, law enforcement, auto finance, asset recovery, transportation and other motor vehicle related industries. Its on-demand data solutions utilize Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology to receive real-time license plate images from remote camera systems via the Internet. Those images are stored in a centralized secured and encrypted database, allowing ALPR systems to search for plate sightings against continually updated hot lists. As a result, MVTRAC can gain real-time location data of vehicles of interest nationwide.

As MVTRAC greatly expanded its operations and continually entered into new customer partner relationships, it required a SAS70 compliant IT environment that would deliver high performance, full scalability and a multi-city backup solution of all data. The company turned to SWC’s Managed Services team to help develop an infrastructure road map, timeline and solution that would encompass all of its continually evolving and ongoing technology requirements.

SWC helped designed and deploy a new next-phase IT infrastructure at MVTRAC’s Illinois headquarters and at a government regulated co-location facility that incorporates virtualized servers and storage area networks. The network is remotely monitored and managed by SWC, and an enhanced business continuity solution gives MVTRAC and MVTRAC’s government and customer relationships an even greater peace of mind. The new infrastructure has the scalability to handle a tenfold increase in business over the next two years and has the highest security standards available today.

SWC Technology Partners President Bob Knott said, “We’re seeing the managed services market continue to grow, and our work with MVTRAC illustrates why outsourcing network management is so widely embraced. MVTRAC gained an optimized technology environment and increased network availability, at a lower cost and without having to add additional staff. Like many growing businesses, it was contending with an IT environment that was increasingly complex to manage and maintain. Now, the team there is delighted with the performance and positioned for ongoing growth and success.”

Scott Jackson, president of MVTRAC, added, “As a provider of the most comprehensive and patented motor vehicle intelligence network in the nation, the integrity, reliability and speed of our technology infrastructure are the most critical components of our business. We’re seeing our data input-output literally double week over week, and the task of scalability became increasingly difficult. With SWC’s Managed Services, we have essentially two sets of eyes to monitor the network for security purposes, and also to evaluate in real-time the needs of the network for added data scalability components. The team at SWC has done an excellent job for us: they worked with our IT team and the IT team at our new government regulated site to accurately assess all of our requirements, deploy a solution that precisely meets our needs, and provide the ongoing monitoring and maintenance that is essential to us and to our customers who rely on our real-time network. SWC is like the A-Team of managed services. Frankly, in the 20 years as CEO of this company, I was more impressed with them than any other IT solutions company I’ve ever worked with.”
